REAP THE BENEFIT!
Date:
October 2017

Joggie has reaped big time this time and everybody here at home (and elsewhere) are immensely proud of him.
He has been appointed the winner of the SOUTHERN AFRICAN STUD BREEDER 2017 for Landbouweekblad/Breedplan at the awards ceremony of Aldam Stockman School DD 19 October. His big smile says it all 😊

But for those knowing Joggie, he has reaped the benefits for what he has not “worked” for, because if you do what you ENJOY doing, you have not worked a single day of your life. LOL!

On a more serious note, this is a biggie for us at Hartebeestloop and we cherish this award!

The home base at Hartebeestloop Bonsmaras knows exactly what it takes to win something like this – hours on hours of dedicated hard work and effort over many years.

Congratulations Joggie, you do us proud!

The Must Go to Auction

February 2015

The "must have animals"
The "must support breeders"
The "MUST GO TO AUCTION

Read more about Hartebeestloop Bonsmara Auction and why you should be there!

  • We are not just breeders but also teachers – our Open Days, Farmers Days and Bull Days are fully packed and usually oversubscribed. We live and teach the Hartebeestloop farming philosophy. Nowhere is this more prevalent, than at our yearly auction every year.

  • Our breeding program combines science with Kalahari common sense. Farmers recognised the fact that our animals are the best possible combination of science, environment and common sense.
  • Hartebeestloop Bonsmaras provide the most information about their animals. We flash it all – compulsory performance testing data, pelvic measurements, performance on the veld (Veldbull data), Condition scoring, Ultrasonic scanning data, Adaptability scores, Claw quality scores and many more. Farmers know that what we report, is what they get. Farmers know that we tell the truth, even when it hurts!

  • Scientific data, well understood by stud breeders, but making little sense for the commercial farmer, is presented in an easy to read and understand Farmers’ Catalogue. The Farmers’ Catalogue is the “bible” of the commercial farmer at the auction.

  • We breed and farm for profit – just as all our clients do! Stud breeding is only a part of Hartebeestloop Bonsmaras. We practice all commercial production systems – weaners, replacement heifers and oxen from the veld.

  • Hartebeestloop oxen has scooped the the Meatco Producer of the Month Award 3 times during 2014. This award is solely based on quality of animals for the lucrative export market. We don’t just breed bulls, we also raise and market their off-spring in the commercial market – we practice what we preach.

  • The Hartebeestloop cow herd is our most valuable asset. Our cow herd is amongst top 10 herds at SA Stud Book for the last couple of years. Farmers know - No Great Dams, No Great Sires!

  • We believe in the power and profit of hybrid vigour and has shown the excellent results achieved with Bonsmara bulls in such a system. Pure breeding or crossbreeding – we speak the farmer’s language!

  • We see every client as a shareholder and our aims are to maximise “the bull’s value” to them and give a great customer experience. Our after sale service goes far beyond receiving feedback on the performances of the bulls only.

  • Farmers know when they buy from us, they are in safe hands. They know that we are positively good for their business.

And that is why Hartebeestloop Bonsmaras is – “The Must Go to Auction”!

SAVE THE DATE FOR THE AUCTION!
