This photographs was taken on one of the many dunes on Hartebeestloop. It was one of many photographs taken for the Landbouweekblad article that Charl van Rooyen did on the farm (DD February 2016).
This Bonsmara bull decided he had enough of the photographic session that day. He part of the group being photographed for the upcoming auction. Fortunately he was not injured at all. But he did give us a big fright as we knew his worth!

This photograph was taken in August 2019 - in a (at that stage) severe 7-year drought. The Bonsmara is a breed that can withstand these severe conditions and still thrive!
This photograph was taken in August 2019. We have experienced 7 straight very dry years in a row - with 2018/2019 being the worst. But these Bonsmaras are (more than) hanging in there!
